Tom Cruise is better than most stunt men.

Speaking at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, Rob exclusively told BANG Showbiz: Tom is so well rounded, he's better than most stunt men. He's an incredible driver, an incredible fighter and stunt performer. He flies planes, he knows how to ride horses, he rides motorcylces, so any director would be lucky to have a guy like that because they can keep the camera on him the whole time and it's more engaging. Rob also revealed Tom insists on doing his own stunts because he wants the best moviegoing experience possible for the audience. He explained: Tom does his own stunts on everything, he won't allow a stuntman to do it for him, primarily because he knows that the audience is smart. That type of commitment and dedication is incredible. With Tom, we design the action to fit what he can do and that's why it looks so great. 'Jack Reacher' is available on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download from 22nd April

Tom Cruise is "the most intense individual".

Speaking at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, Rob exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "You do kind of worry sometimes about what he's going through but I have to harness Tom back more than I have to push him forward. Sometimes we'll be told to tone it down a bit by those in charge but you never have to tell him to give more, it's give less because he is so into it. He is the most intense individual I have ever met." Rob also explained Tom's intense commitment made everyone on set try harder because no one wanted to be the person who let him down. He said: "You really want to try 10 times as hard as normal because his energy level is so high and you don't want to be the guy that's bringing up the rear. He makes us all work harder because no one wants to let him down. I love that sense of commitment from Tom. "He knows you can't make a movie with one man, he understands the sense of teamwork and establishes a great line of communication between

Cruise's intense star power carries 'Oblivion'

Published: Friday, April 19, 2013, 12:01 a.m. Just as Tom Cruise struggles through the most extended patch of bad PR and audience iffiness of his career, he goes and makes a couple of very good movies. Some of his fans have jumped ship (after he jumped on Oprah's couch, and other shenanigans), and some have aged out of the opening-weekend movie-going population. Thus Cruise's December release, "Jack Reacher," underperformed at the box office, yet it's a sharp, well-written action picture. Now comes "Oblivion," a big-reach science fiction epic. Wouldn't you know it: The film is pensive and deeply felt, and contains one of Cruise's best performances. The Earth hangs on, barely, in the aftermath of a great war. Much of the planet has been wrecked, and even though the Earthlings "won" the war, they continue to do battle with a surviving band of extraterrestrial agents. TriStar Pictures, Getty file Tom Cruise in "Jerry Maguire," at left, and "Top Gun." Tom Cruise has been playing heroes and hunks since the 1980s -- it's as natural to him as the daily commute is to us.
