Ben Affleck is attached to star in Nathan Decker, a political comedy that Warner Bros. is developing as a star vehicle.
Warners picked up the script by Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love) about a year ago with Tom Cruise as its probable lead actor. Cruise has since fallen off the project, so Warners approached Affleck, who has now attached himself.
The story centers on a politician who is caught in an affair and returns to his hometown to confront his past.
Affleck will not direct the film. He is currently in post-production on Warners' Argo.
