As if lading in the Oval in a helicopter wasn't enough, Tom Cruise has his sights set on making a scene at the Manchester derby.

The Hollywood star has been urged by David Beckham to make it to Man United v Man City on Sunday and he make take a helicopter of plane to get there.

Cruise, 50, is filming scenes in Hertfordshire for his new film 'All You Need Is Kill', 200 miles away from the Etihad stadium.

'Toms filming on Saturday, the match is a lunchtime kick-off and he has to be in London for the premiere of his film Jack Reacher on Monday,' a source told The Sun.

'Weve been working out whether to get a jet or helicopter or go by road. Toms on a very tight schedule, but is desperate to see the match.

'Becks told him, "If theres one game you see, this is it." So hes been buzzing to get up to Manchester.

'He wont be shouting for United or City. Hell be there as a fan of sport. The only thing that may put a spanner in the works is if filming over-runs.'

So it's not Mission Impossible for Tom but it could still be a tricky ask.

The Cruiser is planning on watching the crunch clash with fellow actor Robert Duvall, 81.

'Tom doesnt want his appearance turning the event into a circus,' continued the source.

But with players of the calibre of Sergio Aguero, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie on display, there will be plenty of drama and explosions on the field.
