Tom Cruise's Film Violence Cut From UK Version Of 'Jack Reacher'
WENN/ParamountTom Cruise's latest action movie 'Jack Reacher' has had two scenes cut because they were too violent to achieve the rating that film bosses wanted for the movie.
The British Board of Film Classification were set to slap the action thriller with a 15 rating due to two extra violent scenes in the movie, until Paramount Pictures decided to cut the parts from the film.
The concern of the studio appears to have been caused by the fact that they wanted the movie to appeal to a younger audience, and with the scenes in only those over 15 could've entered cinemas to see the movie.
Therefore they cut two gory and violent bits out of the movie before it will be seen British audiences.
A statement on the BBFC's website reads: "This work was originally classified '15' without cuts on 14/09/2012. This determination was formally reconsidered by the BBFC at the request of the submitting company. The BBFC carefully considered the arguments put forward by the submitting company, looked again at the relevant submitted material, and concluded that the film could be classified '12A' subject to cuts being made in two sequences."
Cruise stars as Reacher, a former US military man who searches to find those involved in a shooting with five victims.
