Tom Cruise shoots movie in London

Tom Cruise brought part of London to a standstill as he shot his new movie in the capital.

The Hollywood star is in the UK filming sci-fi action flick All You Need Is Kill and the movie team shut down Trafalgar Square so the actor could shoot a helicopter scene.

Photos show the 50-year-old landing the chopper in the middle of the deserted square, near Nelson's Column.

Earlier, tanks were seen in the area, suggesting Tom and co were shooting an action sequence.

The film, which also stars Emily Blunt, follows a soldier (Tom) who re-lives his last day over and over after being killed in a war against aliens.

Tom has been in England making the movie for some time, and last week was joined in the capital by his six-year-old daughter Suri, who flew over to celebrate Thanksgiving with her dad.

Suri's mum Katie Holmes, who Tom split from earlier this year after nearly five years of marriage, stayed in the US where she is thought to have celebrated the holiday with her family.
