Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes incredibly happy since split, says friend

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are said to be "incredibly happy" following their split last year.

Cruise's friend and Rock of Ages director Adam Shankman said that the divorced couple both seem to be doing well.

"They are incredibly happy," said Shankman.

"I've just been emailing with [Tom]. He's coming back. He's shooting in London and seems as happy as a clam. I know he sees his daughter.

"Katie seems really happy. You just fight through all the noise. And it's noisy!"

Holmes filed for divorce from Cru! ise after five years of marriage in June 2012.

In a statement at the time, Cruise's representative commented that her client was "deeply saddened".

The couple's 6-year-old daughter Suri lives with her mother in New York.
