Report: Tom Cruise keeps in touch with daughter Suri via video chat

While her mother and father take care of divorce proceedings, Suri Cruise has been staying primarily with mom Katie Holmes. But reports say that Tom Cruise still maintains contact with his 6-year-old daughter via video chat.

Video chatting with the parent that she isnt physically with at the time is all part of the divorce settlement, according to sources.

Tom and Katie were advised that this could be a very useful tool to help Suri with the adjustment of her parents getting divorced, a source told RadarOnline. Tom and Suri have been video chatting and Tom just lights up when her face appears on the computer screen. Tom and Suri also communicate on the telephone and there is no limit on the contact for either parent. If Suri wants to talk to Tom she will call him, with help of course.

The majority of the former couples divorce settlement has to do with their only child together and although they settled in just 11 days, Suri was said to be at the center of it all.

Over 75% of the settlement documents deal with Suri and the custody agreement, a source said.

Cruises attorney Bert Fields said last week Tom will be seeing Suri very soon. I don't know exactly when that will be, and I couldn't tell you, but I do know it will be very soon. Tom loves his Suri very, very much, as he does his other two children. Tom is a family man and dedicated to his children. They are the center of his world.

The NY Daily News reports that Holmes shocked fans when she filed for divorce in New York on June 28.

At the time, Cruise was in Iceland shooting Oblivion and his rep said he was deeply saddened by her filing.

While most of their disconnect is reported to stem from Cruises! religio n of Scientology, Holmes is Christian and has enrolled Suri in the Convent of the Sacred Heart Catholic School.
