Tom Cruise sues Bauer Media for allegations of "abandoning Suri"

Tom Cruise filed a $50 million defamation case last October against Bauer Media Group, whose Life & Style Magazine reported a story suggesting Cruise had abandoned his daughter Suri.

The Huffington Post reported that Cruise is demanding the identity of the unknown source who said that he abandoned Suri, the companys policy and practice towards the validity of sources and all the published stories on Tom Cruise.

The publisher will protect the sources and also seek demands such as details on the time spent between Cruise and Suri after the divorce, Suris psychological state after their divorce and Cruises past litigation experience, reported Hollywood Reporter.

Regarding the lawsuit, Cruises lawyer Bert Fileds said: Tom doesnt go around suing people. Hes not a litigious guy. But when these sleaze peddlers try to make money with disgusting lies about his relationship with his child, you bet hes going to sue.

According to Hollywood Reporter, this kind of lawsuit can be settled peacefully. Cruises ex-wife Katie Holmes also filed a $50 million lawsuit against American Media due to suggestions of her being a drug addict. It was settled after the publisher apologized to her and made a donation to charity.
