Jamie Lannister Cast Into Oblivion

Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has been added to the cast of Tom Cruise's forthcoming sci-fi film Oblivion.

Deadline says the actor, who plays Jamie Lannister on Thrones, "will play Sykes, a battle-hardened, physically imposing, intelligent and extremely athletic military technology and weapons expert."

The cast also includes Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough and Olga Kurylenko. Cruise plays a soldier and one of the last men on a post-apocalyptic, uninhabitable future Earth. He works alone repairing the drones that patrol and battle aliens when he meets a beautiful, mysterious woman who crash-lands.

Tron: Legacy helmer Joseph Kosinski will direct Oblivion, which is based off of his idea that is also set to be a graphic novel. Filming begins this March in Louisiana.
