Tom Cruise to present award at Oscars 2012

Tom Cruise has been added to the list of presenters at this year's Academy Awards.

The news was announced today by producers Brian Grazer and Don Mischer.

Jennifer Lopez and Tom Hanks were previously announced as presenters at this year's Oscars.

Cruise has been nominated for an Oscar three times - 'Best Actor' for Born on the Fourth of July and Jerry Maguire, as well as 'Best Supporting Actor' for Magnolia.

The 84th Academy Awards will air on Sunday, February 26 on ABC in the US and on Sky Movies in the UK.

The 49-year-old actor returned to his spy role in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol last year.

He told Digital Spy that he had fun thinking up the action sequences shown in the movie.
