Morgan Freeman Cruises to Oblivion

Oscar winner Morgan Freeman has joined the cast of Tom Cruise's new sci-fi movie Oblivion.

Deadline says it doesn't know who Freeman is playing, but "it's a critical part." The cast also includes Andrea Riseborough (Never Let Me Go) and Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace).

Cruise plays a soldier and one of the last men on a post-apocalyptic, uninhabitable future Earth. He works alone repairing the drones that patrol and battle aliens when he meets a beautiful, mysterious woman who crash-lands.

Tron: Legacy helmer Joseph Kosinski will direct Oblivion, which is based off of his idea that is also set to be a graphic novel.
