A-list couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes celebrated their five-year anniversary today.

"I think every little girl dreams about her wedding," Katie Holmes once said in October of 2004, Us Magazine reports. "I used to think I was going to marry Tom Cruise."

Ironically, the two were married about two years later, on November 18, 2006 in Italy at a ceremony of about 150 people.

According to The Hollywood Gossip, Cruise and Holmes met in 2005 and starting dating only a short while later. After their first date, which was enjoying sushi on Cruises private plane, the two were smitten. With how fast they started their relationship, many people believed it to be just another Hollywood publicity stunt.

However, five years later, and the duo have a romantic, fantasy marriage and a 5-year-old daughter, Suri, to show for it.

"Tom's as big at home as he is on the movie screen. He's so passionate about everything, whatever he's doing, Holmes gushed to Marie Claire last year. When he's being a dad, he's right there; he's giving it his all. It's inspiring and it's fun."

It's an amazing life, but we always remind ourselves of how incredibly lucky we are, she added.
