Tom Cruise looking at 'secluded' homes in New York

Tom Cruise is limiting his house hunt in New York to "secluded" properties.

The 50-year-old actor is currently searching for a home in 'The Big Apple' so he can be close to his daughter Suri, who is now living in New York City with her mother Katie Holmes - who filed for divorce from Tom in June bringing an end to their five-year marriage.

Representatives for the 'Rock of Ages' star contacted Donna Senko of Sotheby's International who have now spoken to agents in Westchester County, Stamford and Greenwich to enquire about properties.

Tom has specified his new home must be secure, discreet and secluded with a "suburban presence" so six-year-old Suri can play in private.

A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "He wants something extremely secluded where Suri can play without paparazzi watching. There are lots of them in these towns."

Katie and Tom's divorce was finalised within a matter of weeks, with the former 'Dawson's Creek' star getting primary custody of Suri with Tom being granted regular visitation rights.

Although the Hollywood superstar is keeping the couple's former home in Beverly Hills - which he shares with his eldest children, Isabella, 19, and 17-year-old Connor - he is determined to have a permanent base in New York for his time with Suri.
