Tom Cruise's son gets quirky hairdo

It's always important to show you're an individual when you're a teenager. Especially when you're the teenage child of a high-profile celebrity who's getting aaalll the attention in their high-profile divorce.

Which is probably the only explanation as to why Connor Cruise decided to lop off his lovely afro and get some quirky designs shaved into the shorter side-panel. The 17-year-old DJ (?!) tweeted a photo of his new hairdo, telling his assorted followers, saying, simply "Chopped".

Which could be cooler than you'd initially think, owing to the fact that "Chopped and Screwed" is a nicheway of remixing hip hop so that it sounds like you're listening to it through a bubblebath.

But maybe he really did just mean his hair was "Chopped" and was making no reference at all to music. But even that makes him pretty cool, what with the mystery and everything. In other Tom Cruise news (we like how that rhymes), Tom has returned with Suri from a beach holiday back to New York.

They went to the Hamptons for a few days - apparently this was the first time off Tom's had since the split on 3 July because he has had filming commitments.

His lawyer, Bert Fields, told Page Six: "Tom was shooting a film on location, but he spoke to Suri every day." Pretty nice, then, that they could get away for a bit.

Not so nice for Suri, who's returned to a wet and rainy New York!
