While promoting his upcoming sci-fi film "Oblivion" in Moscow Tom Cruise admitted he'd like to take a real-life trip into space.

Who wouldnt want to do something like that?" Cruise said, speaking of the film, where he plays one of the last men on Earth after an alien battle destroys the planet.

According to the Oregonian, the actor said it was his childhood dream to travel into space. It all started when he flew a space shuttle simulator at NASA's Space Center Houston. Asked about private space flights scheduled for December 2013, Cruise said he was looking forward to making his juvenile dreams come true.

"Im going to let a couple of other people test it out first but it would be great," he says. "I was always hoping when I was a kid that we would be traveling to different planets by ! now.

As far as Aliens are concerned, Cruise said he believes they exist though he hasn't yet met one.

I dont think you can actually count it out, he said. It might be a little arrogant to think we were the only ones in all the galaxies throughout the universe -- but Ive never met one!
