Beyonce and Tom Cruise to Reboot A Star is Born?
If studio executives have their way prepare yourself for an unlikely duo of Tom Cruise and Beyonce for the new remake of A Star is Born.
Deadline Hollywood reports that Cruise is in definite talks to play the alcoholic rock star who takes the younger musician (Beyonce) under his wing while showing her the ropes of the music business, and love. A slew of names were previously attached to the project such as, Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman and Leonardo DiCaprio, but now it is said that studio executives are more interested in Cruise being involved in the show.
In the original 1976 film Kris Kristofferson played the bitter rock star and Barbra Striesand played the young ingenue.
If the deal goes through this will be Tom Cruises second music inspired film right behind the soon to be released Rock of Ages, which sees him playing the lead rocker. Cruise also has experience playing a slime ball, most recently in the comedic film Tropic Thunder.
