Tom Cruise To Join Beyonce In 'A Star Is Born'?

Tom Cruise is reportedly in the running to star alongside Beyonce in a new version of the film 'A Star Is Born'.

Production on the project has been extremely slow due to the birth of the singer's daughter Blue Ivy Carter, but Warner Bros. and director Clint Eastwood are now keen to sign up an actor to play the role of her mentor, according to Variety.

Talks with 'Mission: Impossible' star Cruise are allegedly in the very early stages, with no official negotiations under way just yet. However his work in forthcoming musical 'Rock Of Ages' is thought to make him the first choice for the part.

Hugh Jackman, Will Smith, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale have also been linked to the part.

Cuba Gooding Jr. recently revealed that his dad embarrassed him on the set of 'Jerry Maguire' by questioning Cruise on his sexuality.
