Melissa Leo set for Tom Cruises Oblivion

PanARMENIAN.Net - Melissa Leo has been set for Oblivion, the Joseph Kosinski-directed futuristic UniversalPictures thriller that stars Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough and OlgaKurylenko, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Production just got underway in Baton Rouge. Leo, who won the Best Supporting Actress Oscarfor The Fighter, will next be seen in the Robert Zemeckis-directed Denzel Washington-starrerFlight, and shes currently shooting the third season of HBOs Treme.

Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark are producing Oblivion with Barry Levine and Kosinski. MichaelArndt rewrote drafts by William Monahan and Karl Gajdusek.

In the film, a court martial sends a veteran soldier to a distant planet, where he is to destroy theremains of an alien race. The arrival of an unexpected traveler causes him to question what heknows about the planet, his mission, and himself.
