Tom Cruise plays rock idol Stacee Jaxx in Rock of Ages.

THE first peek of up-and-coming musical movie Rock of Ages has been released.
Set in 1987 in Los Angeles, and directed by Adam Shankman of Hairspray fame, the film is based on the Broadway musical about a small-town girl (Julianne Hough) and a city boy (Diego Boneta) who fall in love while chasing their dreams of fame.
The film also features Tom Cruise as old-school rocker Stacee Jaxx as well as Catherine Zita-Jones, Mary J. Blige, Russell Brand and Alex Baldwin.
The film will be released in Australia in May, 2012.
