Impossible Missions Force (IMF) agents Jane Carter (Paula Patton) and Trevor Hanaway (Josh Holloway) and brilliant tech whiz, Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg) are tasked to find a courier carrying nuclear launch codes. Unfortunately, their mission goes awry and the codes fall into the hands of a sultry assassin, Sabine Moreau (La Seydoux).
Meanwhile, team leader Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) must be extracted from a Moscow prison and the group is assigned the task of breaking into the Kremlin to retrieve information about the intended recipient of the codes; a man code-named Cobalt. Shortly thereafter, Cobalt blows their cover and, before Ethan and Benji can escape, a tremendous explosion rocks Red Square. Ethan finds himself and the entire IMF being blamed to the point that the President invokes Ghost Protocol, a complete dissemination of the agency.
Having inherited a new team member, William Brandt (Jeremy Renner), Hunt finds himself, for the first time, working with a team he did not choose. On the surface, Brandt is a desk-bound analyst, but he carries a more complicated past. Begrudgingly, Ethan and this new team must work together as oneall without any support or backup from the now-defunct IMFif they are to clear their names, complete their mission and prevent nuclear annihilation.
Located in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai is visually striking with the Burj Khalifa (the surf-shaped, tallest building in Dubai, UAE) vertically challenging as well, Pegg describes the breath-taking action scene on the building, Yes, he did hang off the Burj Khalifa. I was there and we were higher! up than a helicopter would fly, it was scarily high and we were only about three quarters of the way up and Tom spent like two days running around on the outside of that building. I dont have any problem with heights but I was like I cannot look It made your stomach drop way.
Tom Cruise reprises his role as IMF Agent Ethan Hunt and is joined by an international cast that includes Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, Michael Nyqvist, Vladimir Mashkov, Josh Holloway, Anil Kapoor and La Seydoux.
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE GHOST PROTOCOLis a Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions Presentation directed by Brad Bird and is distributed locally by United International Pictures through Solar Entertainment Corporation. It is now being screened in Philippine cinemas.
