A FILM crew on Saunton beach has been filming scenes for a new Hollywood movie starring Tom Cruise.

A helicopter fitted with CGI cameras and a blacked out vehicle were spotted on the beach today (Tues) as scenes were shot for All You Need Is Kill.

It is not known if the actor was due to be visiting the area himself but one eyewitness said she is convinced she saw the star.

Catherine Clement, who works at West Cross Garage in Braunton, was on her way to recover a vehicle in Putsborough with her boss at around 10.45am when they spotted the helicopter landing on the beach.

She said: We went back to investigate and as we drove down to the car park, which was all fenced off, we saw him get out of the helicopter.

We couldnt get too close to him because of the security guards but it was definitely him.

The film is due for release in 2014 and is based on a novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.

Cruise will co-star with star Emily Blunt, Charlotte Riley and Bill Paxton.

The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) summarises the plot as: A soldier fighting in a war with aliens finds himself caught in a time loop of his last day in the battle, though he becomes better skilled along the way.
