Bill Paxton Joining All You Need Is Kill

Its been several months since Tom Cruiseofficially signed on for All You Need is Kill (also known as We Are Mortals), the sci-fi actioner based on the Japanese graphic novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.

Since then, the Doug Lyman-helmed projecthas broughtEmily Blunton board, and now Bill Paxtonis apparently looking to join the cast, as well.

According to Variety, Paxton is in negotiations to star alongside Cruise as the hard-nosed leader of a platoon facing off against an alien race. One of his soldiers, played by Cruise, is killed in action and relives his final battle over and over.

Admittedly, the films premise bears some similarities to last years surprise hit, Source Code. However, at this early stage, theres no telling whether or not All You Need is Kill will bear more than a superficial resemblance to the Jake Gyllenhaal thriller. Either way, the addition of top-notch talent like Paxton can only be a good thing.
