Tom Cruise breakup reportedly led to breakdown for Scientology actress: Favorite People

Nazanin Boniadi, the Scientologist reportedly handpicked as Tom Cruise's next bride, suffered a "total and complete breakdown" after she was dumped, shipped off to Florida and forced to dig ditches and scrub toilets, RadarOnline reports.

"Naz had a breakdown after her breakup with Tom Cruise, partly because of the punishment she endured," the site's source says. "She was forced to clean toilets with a toothbrush at the Church of Scientology headquarters in Florida amongst other chores. Naz worked 10-15 hours a day and was told she was being punished for talking about her relationship with Cruise."

Vanity Fair reported in an explosive cover story -- which Scientology officials and Cruise himself dismiss as lies -- that the church held elaborate auditions to find a proper fit for the A-lister.

Boniadi was chosen to date Cruise and fell head-over-heels. But he quickly decided she wasn't up to the task, sources told Vanity Fair, and complained: "I get more love from an extra than I get from you."

The story has a happy ending, Radar's source says: "Naz's mother, who was also a member of the Church at the time, recognized her daughter was in trouble and needed to get immediate mental health attention. Her mom truly saved her daughter's life."
