1st intense trailer for Tom Cruise's sci-fi flick Oblivion leaks

The first trailer for Tom Cruise's intriguing new sci-fi epic Oblivion has leaked online, giving us a fascinating look at desolate, abandoned future-Earth. Want to see?

Focusing on Cruise's drone repairman stationed on a post-war Earth, this looks sort of like an epic sci-fi take on I Am Legend. But instead of empty cities, it has mostly-destroyed cities. Oh, and sweet space ships.

With the monster budget behind this decidedly unique story, Oblivion could be one of the coolest sci-fi flicks of 2013.

The trailer is an international version with subtitles, but it's all in English. The U.S. trailer is expected to be very similar, if not the exact same cut.

Check out the synopsis below:

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack's mission is nearly complete. Living and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

UPDATE: With the international version making the rounds, the studio went ahead and released the official trailer. It's embedded below:

Oblivion opens April 26th, 2013.

What do you think? Will this one be any good?
