Tom Cruise talks about Jack Reacher set injury with Jimmy Fallon in first post-divorce interview (Video)
Like his ex-wife Katie Holmes did last month, Tom Cruise went on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for his first post-divorce interview, but that was not a topic of conversation. Cruise was on to talk about Jack Reacher and an odd on-set injury he suffered during filming.
I hurt my foot, the actor, who makes a point of doing his own stunts, told Fallon. There's a scene where I'm kicking a guy in the balls, the testicles.
In the testicles, Fallon repeated, notes iVillage. Was it a human being or was it a mannequin?
It was a human being, [but] no testicles were injured in the making of the film! We had to do the take over and over again... and the first 10 times it was like 'Yeah!' Cruise joked. After about 50 times in, my foot was swelling... I kept having to loosen my shoe.
Fallon then suggested that Jack Reacher should have worn some UGG boots.
I was limping for days, Cruise said. So was he! added Fallon.
Cruises appearance was not just a sit-down interview, though, notes Celebuzz. He also played Water War with the host, where both had to pick the card with the highest number so they could dump water on each other.
Cruise was also supposed to attend a special Lincoln Center screening of the film on Monday, but it was cancelled out of respect for the victims of the Newtown, Connecticut shootings. Paramount also rescheduled the Pittsburgh premiere for tonight and the studio will not host a red carpet event before the screening.
