Officially over: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes divorce

THE couple rubber-stamped a settlement giving Holmes, 33, primary custody of their six-year-old daughter Suri.

ACTOR Tom Cruises marriage to Katie Holmes was officially ended yesterday just 53 days after their shock separation.

A judge in New York finalised the divorce last night.

The couple rubber-stamped a settlement giving Holmes, 33, primary custody of their six-year-old daughter Suri.

It is believed the divorce deal includes restrictions on Suris involvement in the Church of Scientology, of which Cruise is a member.

Mission: Impossible star Cruise, 50, who won generous visitation rights, was said to have been blindsided by his third wifes decision to file for divorce.

Documents did not disclose how the couples 175million fortune was divided, although a pre-nuptial agreement was understood to have granted the Dawsons Creek star 2million for each year she was married to Cruise.

The marriage lasted five years and nine months, meaning she could have secured around 11.5million as well as a home for her and Suri.
