Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are officially divorced

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have finalized their divorce, E! Online reports.

A New York judge signed off on Monday, less than two months after Holmes filed for divorce.

After five years of marriage, Holmes filed on June 29 seeking sole custody of their 6-year-old daughter, Suri, which reportedly blindsided Cruise. In the divorce documents, Holmes said her marriage to Cruise was "irretrievably" broken for at least six months before she filed. In July, the couple reached a quick settlement, which granted Holmes primary custody and gave the actor generous visitation rights.

Even before their wedding, Cruise and Holmes' relationship was the center of much media attention after the Rock of Ages star famously declared his love for Holmes while jumping on a couch on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

This was the f! irst marriage for Holmes, 33, and the third for Cruise, 50. He was previously married to Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman, with whom he has two children, Isabella, 19, and Connor, 17.

The couple married in an Italian castle in November 2006 after dating for one year.
