Tom Cruise stuns diners with visit to Indian restaurant

The Top Gun star arrived at the Veer Dhara eaterie with eight family and friends, and he ordered lobster and a dish of chicken tikka masala.

A friend of the Hollywood actor settled the bill of $351 (221) and the group left a tip of $125 (79).

Before their arrival, a call was made to the manager of the restaurant by a man wanting to make a booking, and two cars containing Cruise and his entourage later arrived.

A bodyguard entered the venue to tell staff Cruise would be dining there and request that he was not hassled during his meal.

Manager Darshit Hora tells the BBC, "He said, 'Tom Cruise is visiting your restaurant and doesn't want to disclose that he will be here. He is with his family and just wants to have a nice relaxing evening'. He said he was staying about 15 miles away and came here because it was recommended."

Cruise is staying in the area as his film All You Need Is Kill is being filmed at the nearby Leavesden Studios.
