Katie Holmes has been spotted looking really "tired" with her daughter Suri this week.

The pair were on a visit to Toledo, Ohio, and Katie took her six-year-old out for a shopping trip at the local mall, shunning designer shops in favour of a more low-key outing.

According to People magazine, the pair were spotted at Toledo's Westfield Franklin Park mall snacking on Auntie Anne's pretzels as well as popping into a few stores.

Katie and Suri are usually mauled by the paparazzi, so it wouldn't be particularly surprising if she didn't want to speak to anyone but the source said she was "very sweet".

Katie seemed tired, but was very polite and kind. She was very sweet and didnt seem to mind talking to people. She looked happy," they told the magazine. It was nice seeing her coming to the mall and not acting like she was some big star who was so much better than everyone.

It was like she was just one of us. She was smiling and didnt seem uncomfortable with being there. It was just Katie coming back to her hometown.

Looks like Katie needs a break from the spotlight for a while....
