Katie Holmes 'Loving Single Life' Following Tom Cruise Split

Katie Holmes only split from husband of five years Tom Cruise in June but the 33-year-old is said to be loving single life and has no plans to get into a serious relationship anytime soon.

The actress filed for divorce just a few days before her husbands' 50th birthday and while there had been little signs of a split it soon became clear the star, who had a new apartment and support staff ready, had been planning the break up for a while. Now she's set up in her new life, insiders claim she's never been happier.

"Katie is just flourishing in her new life," a source told RadarOnline.com. "Yes, there have been some dark moments but she was more than ready to embark on the next phase of her life post-Tom Cruise.

Since breaking up with Tom the actress has made huge changes in not just her life, but that of her daughter Suri, who has started school for the first time and is now living in a modest New York apartment rather than that of a six year-old jet setter.

Katie is devoted to being the best parent possible to Suri [Cruise] and continuing a smooth transition into their new lives together, the source explained. Her daughter is thought to be one of the reasons the Dawson's Creek star wants to stay single.

"Katie believes in love and hopes to get remarried one day but has absolutely no plans on dating anytime soon, the source revealed. She knows bringing a new man into the situation would only cause more stress for Suri right now and the actress is still recovering from the end of her marriage to Tom.

While she might be putting her private life on hold, the actress' career is said to be flourishing.

She is gearing up for a role in Broadway production, 'Dead Accounts' as well! as nume rous film roles her fashion career has also been going well, following a successful fashion week in September.

The source claimed: Katie felt that her professional career suffered because she was married to Tom and that she didn't have the final say in her acting roles.
